Roseville,
Minn. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT)
will begin constructing a grade-separated interchange at Highway
52 and Dakota County Road 46 on Monday, Sept. 29.
Mn/DOT
and DAKOTA COUNTY are in partnership on the interchange. Improvements
include constructing a bridge to carry County Road 46 traffic
over Highway 52, constructing ramps and loops to the south of
County Road 46. The intersection of County Road 81 and County
Road 46 will be shifted slightly to the west and realigned at
the intersection.
A
temporary bypass will be constructed north of existing County
Road 46 and a temporary signal system will be installed at this
new intersection of the bypass and Highway 52. This will serve
as the intersection of the two roads until the bridge and ramps
are complete. The existing signal system will be removed.
Dakota
County is the second-fastest growing county in Minnesota. Traffic
counts on Highway 52 at the intersection with County Road 46 are
approximately 28,000 vehicles per day.
Weather
permitting, this project will be completed by November 2004.
Mn/DOT
urges motorists always to drive with caution and reminds them
to SLOW DOWN in work zones and NEVER enter a roadway that has
been blocked with barriers or cones. For updated statewide traffic,
