Overnight Lane Closures Scheduled for I-35W

Roseville, Minn.—The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will reduce northbound and southbound I-35W to a single lane between Highway 36 in ROSEVILLE and Stinson Blvd. in MINNEAPOLIS at 9 p.m., Sept. 22.

Weather permitting, southbound I-35W will re-open permanently by Sept. 22, although motorists may expect occasional short-term non-rush hour lane or shoulder closures as crews finish striping the northbound lanes of roadway.

Weather permitting, the closed lanes will re-open by no later than 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23.

Crews had hoped to be completed with the southbound portion of the project the morning of Sept. 22, but weekend rains pushed back the re-open time.

Northbound I-35W traffic will be reduced to a single lane again at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23. Weather permitting, the closed lane will re-open by no later than 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24. Crews hope to have the northbound portion completed by Sept. 27.

Mn/DOT urges motorists always to drive with caution and reminds them to SLOW DOWN in work zones and NEVER enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. For updated statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit www.511mn.org.
