Roseville,
Minn.- Motorists should watch for overnight lane closures
on Highway 252 at 85 Avenue in Brooklyn Park between 6 p.m. Monday,
September 15 through 6 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16. Lane closures
will begin on the southbound side of the highway as crews erect
girders for a new pedestrian bridge just north of 85th Ave. Once
the southbound girders are in place, work will switch to the northbound
side of the highway.
The
new pedestrian bridge is being built at the site of a fatal car/bicycle
accident. It is being constructed by the city of Brooklyn Park
in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Transportation
and Hennepin County. When completed, this project will increase
pedestrian safety for children and adults while providing the
missing link in the existing Edinburgh Trail system.
Mn/DOT
urges motorists always to drive with caution and reminds them
to SLOW DOWN in work zones and NEVER enter a roadway that has
been blocked with barriers or cones. For updated statewide traffic,
