(Roseville, Minn.)—Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad will close12th Street between Highway 61 and 7th Avenue in NEWPORT beginning at 5 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11.

The road will re-open on Monday, Sept. 15. The conclusion of the construction is subject to weather conditions and any unanticipated changes relative to the project.

The road closure will allow for repairs to the rail track and gate crossing apparatus.

Mn/DOT urges motorists to drive with caution, reminding them to SLOW DOWN in the work zone and NEVER enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
