(Forest
Lake, Minn.)The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT)
will begin construction today on Interstate 35 in ANOKA and WASHINGTON
counties from south of Highway 97 to the south ramp of Highway
8. The construction will cause shoulder closures and intermittent
single lane closures on southbound I-35 from 8 a.m. to nightfall
and on northbound I-35 from daylight to 3 p.m.
The
construction will include removing existing fence and guardrail
and replacing it with a concrete median barrier. The project is
expected to be completed in November 2003, weather permitting.
The
route has been marked with signs indicating the construction work
will begin this week.
Mn/DOT
urges motorists to drive with caution, reminding them to SLOW
