Highway 61 Bridge Repair, Resurfacing Begins; Access to Close at Hoffman Road and Highway 61

Roseville, Minn.— Repairs and concrete resurfacing of the Highway 61 bridge over the BNSF railroad tracks in Gem Lake begins Monday, August 4. (Gem Lake is located west of White Bear Lake, north of Vadnais Heights). At the same time, the connection between Hoffman Road and the highway will permanently close on the west side of Highway 61 to improve safety in the area. The existing roadway will be turned into a cul de sac.

During the project, traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction for approximately two months between Scheuneman Road and Cedar Lane.

Weather permitting, the entire project will be completed by early October.

Mn/DOT urges motorists always to drive with caution and reminds them to SLOW DOWN in work zones and NEVER enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. For updated statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit www.511mn.org.
