North, South I-35W Road Work Continues; Lane Closures Take Effect Early on July 14

Roseville, Minn.— Long-term lane closures will be in effect beginning Monday, July 14 as the Mn/DOT continues the various repair projects to northbound and southbound I-35W between Stinson Blvd. and Highway 36.

The northbound and southbound lane closures will be in effect in the early morning hours of July 14 as crews repair bridge barriers and make repairs to the concrete pavement. These lane closures will affect rush-hour traffic. The July 8 news release outlining the 9 a.m. closure times was issued in error.

Northbound and southbound I-35W will be reduced to two lanes until Aug. 20. Crews will halt work during the Minnesota State Fair, which runs from Aug. 21 to Sept. 1, but will resume after the fair. Various ramp closures also will be in effect after Sept. 1.

A full ramp closure and detour schedule will be issued one week before they take effect.

Weather permitting, the entire project is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 21.

Mn/DOT urges motorists always to drive with caution and reminds them to SLOW DOWN in work zones and NEVER enter a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. For updated statewide traffic, construction and travel information visit
