Roseville,
Minn. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT)
will begin work on a Highway 65 (Central Ave.) bridge and intersection
in MINNEAPOLIS on July 7.
Traffic
will be reduced to a single northbound and a single southbound
lane on the 3rd Ave. Bridge spanning the Mississippi River as
crews replace the bridges expansion joints and rehabilitate
the concrete roadway surface of the bridge. The single-lanes will
be in effect through the end of October 2003, weather permitting.
In
addition, crews will begin rehabilitating the roadway surface
at the
Central Ave./Broadway Ave. intersection on July 7. Both northbound
and southbound Central Ave. and eastbound and westbound Broadway
Ave. will be reduced to a single lane through this work zone until
early September 2003, weather permitting. The signals will be
replaced with four-way stop signs temporarily, and trucks WILL
NOT be allowed to make right-hand or left-hand turns at this intersection
during construction.
Mn/DOT
urges motorists always to drive with caution and reminds them
to SLOW DOWN in the work zone and NEVER enter a roadway that has
