(Roseville,
Minn.) - Repairs and rehabilitation of two sets of bridges on
Highway 10 in the city of Anoka begins Monday, June 16. The bridges
carry traffic over the BNSF Railroad tracks at 7th Avenue and
over the Rum River at Ferry Street (Highway 47).
Traffic
will be restricted to a single lane in each direction on Highway
10 as work begins on the first set bridges at the railroad tracks
just east of 7th Ave. While the inside lanes are being repaired,
the ramps between 7th Ave. and Highway 10 will remain open. When
work moves to the outside lane of the bridge toward the end of
the month, the westbound exit from Highway 10 to 7th Ave. will
close along with the ramp from 7th Ave. to eastbound Highway 10.
Work is expected to be complete before the Fourth of July holiday
weekend.
Following
the Anoka County Fair in late July, work will begin July 28 on
the bridges carrying Hwy. 10 over the Rum River near Ferry Street.
During the bridge rehabilitation the ramps from westbound Highway
10 to Ferry Street and from Ferry Street to eastbound Highway
10 will be closed for work on the outside of the highway. The
ramps will reopen to traffic around the third week of August once
work is completed on the outside lanes of the bridges.
Weather
permitting, the entire project will be completed by late August.
During the ramp closures, motorists should follow the marked detours
using Greenhaven Road.
