(Roseville,
Minn.) - Motorists should expect major delays in June during concrete
pavement repair and replacement on Interstate 94/694 from just
east of Brooklyn Boulevard to Highway 252 through the city of
Brooklyn Park.
Traffic
will be restricted to a single lane on the eastbound interstate
from the I-94/I-694 split eastbound to the Mississippi River beginning
early Monday morning, June 2 until mid-June.
Once
concrete rehabilitation is completed on the eastbound lanes, work
will switch to the westbound lanes with single lane traffic through
the same area until the end of June.
Travelers
are advised to use alternate routes when possible to avoid congestion.
The work is part of a several year effort to rebuild and widen
the Interstate 94/694 corridor between the Mississippi River in
Brooklyn Center and the junction of Interstates 94/694 and 494
in Maple Grove. Final completion is slated for the fall of 2004.
