(Roseville,
Minn.)-The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will
begin installing traffic camera hardware along I-94 in the east
metro at 10 p.m. June 2.
The
installation will require nighttime lane closures through 6 a.m.
between Sunday evenings and Friday mornings. The construction
extends from Manning Ave. to Johnson Pkwy. in Washington and Ramsey
counties. Work will begin on the westbound lanes first, followed
by the eastbound lanes.
In
addition to lane closures, temporary ramp closures also will occur
during the overnight hours. Weather permitting, the project is
expected to be completed by late fall.
When
the project has concluded there will be an additional 10 cameras
and another changeable message sign in place. The cameras will
provide valuable information to the Regional Transportation Management
Center regarding this corridor.
