(Roseville,
Minn.)— As the Memorial Day Weekend ends, repairs and resurfacing
of five bridges between Little Canada Road in Little Canada and
Larpenteur Avenue in St. Paul begins late Monday evening, May
27. The five bridges carry I-35E traffic over Roselawn Ave., Ramsey
County Road B and Highway 36.
As
work begins on the outside lanes of southbound I-35E, the ramp
from eastbound Hwy. 36 to southbound I-35E and the loops from
southbound I-35E to east and westbound Hwy. 36 will close Tuesday
morning, May 28 until mid-June.
Northbound
work begins June 1 on the outside lanes and will require closing
the loops between the northbound interstate and east and westbound
Hwy. 36. As bridge rehabilitation moves to the inside lanes of
the north and southbound interstate, the loops from I-35E to east
and westbound Hwy. 36 will reopen but the loops from Hwy. 36 to
north and southbound I-35E will stay closed.
Although
two lanes of traffic will remain open at all times, motorists
may encounter congestion and delays during the project. Larpenteur
and Roselawn Ave. traffic will not be affected by the work.
Weather
permitting, the project will be finished by the end of July.
