Roseville,
Minn. Repainting of ten bridges between Fairview Avenue
and Western Avenue along a four-mile stretch of Interstate 94
in St. Paul begins early Saturday morning, May 10. The ten structures
include four pedestrian bridges along with the bridges at Snelling
Ave., Pascal Ave., Hamline Ave., Lexington Ave., Victoria St.
and Dale St.
Painting will start on the right lanes of eastbound I-94. All
ten bridges will be painted at the same time and the contractor
will move across the interstate from south to north starting on
the right lanes of eastbound I-94. Work will be completed on the
outside lanes of the westbound interstate.
During the project, ramps at the various interchanges will be
closed for several days at a time. Traffic will be restricted
to two lanes of the roadway 24 hours a day where work is underway.
Posted detours will direct drivers to nearby ramps. Motorists
using the bridges will not be affected although pedestrian walkways
may close. The Metro Transit bus stop on the south side of I-94
at Snelling Avenue will close during painting on the south side
of the eastbound interstate.
Weather permitting, the project will be finished before the July
4th holiday weekend.
