(Roseville, Minn.)-The Minnesota Department of Transportation
(Mn/DOT) will begin expanding I-494 between Highway 5 and West
Bush Lake Road, the first phase of I-494 widening, on April 7,
2003.
Motorists
may expect night-time lane reductions between April 7 and June
30. All lanes will be re-opened by morning peak periods.
Preliminary
work will include constructing temporary bypass lanes as crews
construct a third eastbound and westbound lane between these two
points. In addition, numerous bridges will be replaced, widened
and re-resurfaced. Construction on the entire first phase is scheduled
to be completed by Autumn 2005.
Mn/DOT
reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN in the work zone and NEVER enter
a roadway that has been blocked with barriers or cones. Please
join us in a safety partnership.
