Short-term night time and overnight I-494 lane, ramp closures to take effect between Jan. 20 and Jan. 24.

     

Roseville, Minn. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will CLOSE several lanes and ramps along the I-494 corridor between Highway 5 in BLOOMINGTON and Highway 77 in BLOOMINGTON beginning at 10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20.

Each of the closures may last as little as 15 minutes to as much as five hours as Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) crews construct a lighting bridge for the new runway at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport

The lane/ramp closures are as follows:

EASTBOUND

  • The ramp from 24th Ave. to eastbound I-494 will be CLOSED for 15 minutes at approximately 10 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20
  • Eastbound I-494 reduced to ONE LANE from east of Highway 77 to 24th Ave. on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from midnight to 5 a.m.
  • EASTBOUND I-494 WILL BE CLOSED AT 24TH. AVE. FOR A 15-MINUTE PERIOD BETWEEN 2 A.M. AND 4 A.M. ON TUESDAY, JAN. 21
  • The ramp from northbound Highway 77 to eastbound I-494 and the ramp from Lindau Ave. to I-494 also will be closed from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21. (Motorists are advised to use the Highway 77/I-494 loops as a detour.)

WESTBOUND

  • Westbound I-494 will be reduced to one lane at Highway 5 from midnight to
    5 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22
  • The ramp from 34th Ave. to westbound I-494, the ramp from westbound I-494 to 24th Ave. and the ramp from westbound I-494 to northbound Highway 77 will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22. Motorists are advised to use the I-494/Highway 77 loops as a detour.
  • WESTBOUND I-494 WILL BE CLOSED AT 24TH AVE. FOR A 15-MINUTE PERIOD BETWEEN 2 A.M. AND 4 A.M. ON WEDNESDAY, JAN. 22

The work mentioned above is subject to fair weather conditions and could be rescheduled in the event of snow and ice, high winds and/or a change to the overall project schedule.
