(Roseville,
Minn.) - Repairs, resurfacing and guardrail replacement on Interstate
694 from Highway 120 on the border of White Bear Lake and Oakdale
to the west junction of I-35E in Little Canada will resume on
Tuesday, Sept. 3 after a two-week hiatus during the Minnesota
State Fair.
Work
began Monday, August 12 with patching and repairs to the roadway
and was completed by August 20.
The
project resumes on Tuesday, Sept. 3, with resurfacing of the eastbound
lanes of the interstate. During work on the eastbound side of
the interstate, the roadway will be closed each night from 8 p.m.
until 5 a.m. the following morning, Sunday night through Friday
morning until mid-September.
Following
completion of the eastbound lanes, resurfacing will switch to
the westbound lanes of the interstate with the roadway closed
each night from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning, Sunday
night through Friday morning until the end of September.
Motorists
will follow signed detours to reach their destinations. Flaggers
will control access to the project area. Extra law enforcement
will be provided by the Minnesota State Patrol to prevent motorists
from entering the work area.
Weather
permitting, all work will be completed by early October.
