(Roseville,
Minn.)--The Minnesota Department of Transportation announces that
crews will begin work that affects eastbound Highway 62 (Crosstown)
at Valley View Road in EDINA at 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18.
Eastbound
Highway 62 will be reduced to one lane at 9 p.m. each day through
Aug. 26 but will re-open to two lanes of traffic by 5 a.m. daily
through Aug. 27.
In
addition, the ramp from eastbound Highway 62 (Crosstown) to Valley
View Road will be CLOSED Monday, Aug. 26 as crews realign and
lengthen the Valley View Road exit ramp.
Weather
permitting, this ramp will re-open by Nov. 1, 2002.
Eastbound
motorists will be detoured to France Ave., the posted detour route,
when the ramp closes.
In
addition to re-aligning and lengthening the exit ramp, crews also
will replace the overhead lighting system, install a new signal
system, relocate fiber optic cables, rehabilitate the storm sewer,
and relocate utility lines.
This
segment of the project is part of the City of Edina's larger Valley
View Road reconstruction project.
