(Roseville,
Minn.) - Repairs and resurfacing of Interstate 694 from Highway
120 on the border of White Bear Lake and Oakdale to the west junction
of I-35E in Little Canada begin Monday, August 12. Crews will begin
patching the roadway between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day until Aug.
20.
Work will be
suspended between Aug. 20 and Sept. 3 during the Minnesota State
Fair. The project will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 3, with resurfacing
of the eastbound lanes of the interstate. During work on the eastbound
side of the interstate, the roadway will be closed each night from
8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning, Sunday night through
Friday morning until mid-September.
Following completion
of the eastbound lanes, resurfacing will switch to the westbound
lanes of the interstate with the roadway closed each night from
8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning, Sunday night through
Friday morning until the end of September.
Motorists will follow signed detours to reach their destinations.
Flaggers will control access to the project area. Extra law enforcement
will be provided by the Minnesota State Patrol to prevent motorists
from entering the work area.
Weather permitting,
all work will be completed by early October.
The project
will also include the repair and replacement of guardrail along
the interstate.
