I-35W BRIDGE PAINTING CONTINUES;
NEW LANE, LOOP CLOSURES ANNOUNCED

     

(Roseville, Minn.)--The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will close the loop from eastbound I-494 to northbound I-35W and the loop from westbound I-494 to southbound I-35W beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2002 as crews continue to paint the bridges that span I-35W from Old Shakopee Road to I-494.

In addition, northbound I-35W will be reduced to a single lane from 90th St. to I-494 from 10 p.m. June 21 through 5 a.m. June 24. Southbound I-35W will be reduced to a single lane between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 22.

The ramp from northbound I-35W to westbound I-494 and the ramp from southbound
I-35W to eastbound I-494 will remain open.

Weather permitting, all lanes and loops should re-open by 5 a.m. Monday, June 24.
The following ramp closure schedule, released on June 12, remains in effect:

  • 98th St. to northbound I-35W: Closed until June 21
  • 94th St. to southbound I-35W: Closed until 5 a.m. June 22
  • 98th St. to southbound I-35W: Closed until 5 a.m. June 29

Detour signage currently is in place. Motorists will expect weekend lane closures to occur between I-494 and Old Shakopee Road (98th St.) between July 5 and August 12.

Mn/DOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN in work zones and NEVER enter roadways that have been blocked with barriers or cones. Please join us in a safety partnership.
