(Roseville,
Minn.) - As reconstruction of the interchange of Interstate 35W
and Anoka County Road 52 (also known as 95th Avenue) in Blaine begins
Monday, June 10, a stretch of 95th Ave. across the interstate will
close early that morning. Crews will begin closing the roadway at
12 Midnight Monday morning and the road will be completely closed
by 4 a.m. In addition, 95th Avenue will be closed and detoured between
Flanders Court in Blaine on the west and Hamline Avenue in Lexington
on the east side of the interstate. Traffic will follow a signed
detour using Lexington Ave. and 109th Ave. Naples Street also will
close east of the interstate and south of 95th Ave.
Demolition of
the County Road 52 / 95th Ave. bridge will begin Monday evening,
June 10. During the bridge removal, north and southbound I-35W traffic
will detour off the interstate onto the entrance and exit ramps
to bypass the workzone. Northbound traffic will detour from 8 p.m.
until 6 a.m. each night and southbound traffic will be detoured
from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. nightly, through Saturday evening, June
15.
The joint Anoka
County-Mn/DOT project also includes reconstruction of the Park and
Ride lot in the northwest corner of the interchange and relocation
of Naples Street farther from I-35W on both sides of the interstate.
When completed, the enlarged parking area will accommodate 600 vehicles.
Weather permitting,
the new bridge will be completed by early November with final completion
of the project scheduled by August, 2003.
NOTE FOR
CLARIFICATION: Anoka County Road 52 is also known as 95th Avenue.
It is also called Radisson Road to the west of the interstate and
Lovell Road to the east of the interstate. Naples Street is north
of County Road 52 on the west of I-35W and is south of County Road
52 on the east.
