Roseville,
Minn.— The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will
begin resurfacing Highway 61 between Highway 316 in Hastings and
Highway 316 in Goodhue County on May 7, 2002.
Northbound will
begin first, from Highway 50 to 36th street in Hastings. One lane
will remain open to both directions of traffic.
Traffic will
be reduced into a single lane in each direction. Once northbound
is completed the project will reverse directions and complete southbound
from 36th street in Hastings to Highway 50.
When phase two
of the resurfacing project begins, lane restrictions will occur
at the intersection of Highway 50 and Highway 61 to eastbound County
Road 93.
Project flaggers
will control traffic, and motorists are advised to allow for extra
time or use alternate routes such as Highway 316. Motorists will
experience delays during peak travel times. Weather permitting,
the project should be completed by May 30, 2002.
Mn/DOT reminds
motorists to SLOW DOWN in the work zone and NEVER enter a roadway
that has been blocked with barriers or cones. Please join us
in a safety partnership.
