(Roseville,
Minn.) - Motorists traveling on Highway 169 through Champlin will
encounter additional congestion Friday morning, June 7, as the annual
Father Hennepin Festival gets underway in the city. Drivers also
should watch for pedestrians attending the community even throughout
the weekend.
West River Road
between Highway 169 and East Hayden Lake Road will close from 9:00
a.m. Friday, June 7 to 10:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9. The final section
of West River Road from 117th Ave. North to East Hayden Lake Road
will officially close at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7 for the Father
Hennepin Festival Parade. West River Road is again the designated
parade route. The stretch of West River Road from 117th Ave. to
East Hayden Lake Road will re-open at the conclusion of the parade
approximately 9:00 p.m.
This closure
will cause additional congestion along with single lane traffic
north of the Champlin\Anoka bridge on Highway 169 to Main Street
