Roseville,
Minn.— The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will
begin resurfacing I-494 from westbound I-94 in MAPLE GROVE to Highway
55 in PLYMOUTH at 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2002.
Crews will begin
resurfacing the southbound lanes first. Motorists will expect overnight
southbound lane and ramp closures between the two points until 5
a.m. May 31 as crews remove the old roadway surface. All southbound
lanes of I-494, as well as entrance ramps and loops, will be closed
between 9 p.m. Friday, May 31 and 5 a.m. Monday, June 3, weather
permitting, as crews resurface and paint lane markings on the roadway.
Work will begin
on the northbound lanes, ramps and loops of I-494 between Highway
55 and westbound I-494 at 9 p.m. Monday, June 3. Northbound I-494
motorists will expect overnight lane and ramp closures between these
two points until 5 a.m. Friday, June 7 as crews remove the old roadway
surface. All northbound lanes of I-494, as well as entrance ramps
and loops, will be closed between 9 p.m. Friday, June 7 and 5 a.m.
Monday, June 10, weather permitting, as crews resurface and paint
lane markings on the roadway.
Southbound I-494
motorists are advised to use the following detour during the southbound
closure: eastbound I-94, southbound Highway 169 and westbound Highway
55 to return to southbound I-494; northbound I-494 motorists are
advised to use the following detour during the northbound closure:
eastbound Highway 55 to northbound Highway 169 to westbound I-94.
Similar closures
occurred in Summer 2001 as northbound and southbound I-494 was resurfaced
between Highway 212 and Carlson Parkway.
