Long-Term I-35W/I-494 Ramp Closure Takes Effect May 28

Roseville, Minn.— The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will close the ramp from southbound I-35W to westbound I-494 in RICHFIELD on Tuesday, May 28, 2002 after morning rush hour.

This ramp closure is necessary as crews construct the new approach and temporary bypass to westbound I-494 as part of the I-494/Penn Ave. bridge reconstruction project.

Mn/DOT advises motorists to use the following detour during this ramp closure: westbound Highway 62 (Crosstown) to southbound Highway 100 back to I-494.

Weather permitting, Mn/DOT expects the ramp to re-open by July 9, 2002.

Mn/DOT reminds motorists to SLOW DOWN in work zones and NEVER enter roadways that have been blocked with barriers or cones. Please join us in a safety partnership.
