Roseville,
Minn.— The Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) will
begin construction of a roadway connecting the Veterans' Affairs
(VA) Hospital to Highway 55 (Hiawatha Ave.) in MINNEAPOLIS on Monday,
April 29.
The new roadway
will connect the VA Hospital to Highway 55 just north of the
Highway 55/Highway 62 (Crosstown) intersection. Motorists traveling
eastbound and westbound Highway 55 will have direct access to the
VA as a result. Motorists may expect occasional shoulder closures
and non-rush hour lane closures during construction. Crews also
will install a temporary signal system at the new intersection.
Weather permitting,
crews expect to have this project completed by June 1, 2002.
Mn/DOT urges
motorists to drive with caution, reminding them to SLOW DOWN
in the work zone and NEVER enter a roadway that has been blocked
with barriers or cones. Please join us in a safety partnership.
