CONSTRUCTION BEGINS ON NEW TURN LANE FROM NORTHBOUND INTERSTATE 35W TO BOTH COUNTY ROAD J AND LAKE DRIVE IN BLAINE

(Roseville, Minn.) - Construction of a turn lane to carry traffic from northbound Interstate 35W to County Road J/85th Street and Lake Drive (County Road 23) in Blaine begins Monday morning, May 8th. The work will modify signing and extend the right lane of the interstate to allow motorists to exit at both roadways. The right lane of the interstate currently ends just south of County Road J/85th Street, forcing drivers to merge left and then right again to exit.

During the project, motorists will encounter temporary non-rush hour daytime lane restrictions and lane closures. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and watch for construction activity.

Weather permitting, work will be completed in early June.
