TRAFFIC SWITCH BEGINS SATURDAY MORNING FOR SECOND YEAR OF I-35W RESURFACING BETWEEN LINO LAKES AND FOREST LAKE (Roseville, Minn.) - Traffic will be switched from the southbound lanes of Interstate 35W between Lino Lakes and Forest Lake beginning around 11 a.m. Saturday morning, April 22nd. Once traffic in the seven-mile stretch of the interstate is moved, motorists will be restricted to a single lane of traffic in each direction on the northbound side of the interstate between Sunset Avenue in Lino Lakes and the north junction of Interstate 35W and Interstate 35E. The ramps between southbound I-35W and Anoka County Road 23 also will close Saturday morning. Plans to begin work earlier this week were delayed by rainy weather. After traffic is switched, concrete repairs and resurfacing will begin on the southbound lanes of the interstate as the second year of a two-year project to repair and resurface the interstate in the northern Twin Cities suburbs continues. Upon completion of the southbound lanes sometime in early May, traffic will shift to a single lane in each direction on the new roadway so work can begin on the northbound interstate. At that time, the ramps between northbound I-35W and Anoka County Road 23 will close. Weather permitting, the entire project will be finished by mid-July. Drivers are reminded to slow down and watch for workers on the roadway. We're in the Work Zone Together |
