SECOND YEAR OF HIGHWAY 10 REALIGNMENT BETWEEN HASTINGS AND PRESCOTT BEGINS NEXT WEEK HIGHWAY 10 CLOSES THIS WEEKEND

(Roseville, Minn.) - The final year of a two-year project to realign nearly three miles of Highway 10 between Hastings and Prescott, Wisconsin begins early Sunday morning, April 23rd. Realignment will improve safety by straightening the highway and lowering the hilly terrain.

Crews will begin placing barricades and restriping the roadway early Sunday and will close the highway between the junction of Highway 10 and Highway 61 north of Hastings and Washington County Road 21 just west of Prescott. Once the highway is close, it will remain closed throughout this year's work sometime in early October. Traffic will detour along Washington County Roads 21 and 78, Highway 95 and Highway 10/61. A short stretch of 122nd Street South will also be closed at County Road 21.

When completed this fall, the new highway will feature two 12-foot lanes plus 10-foot shoulders on each side of the roadway. The project also includes a truck climbing lane on the westbound roadway beginning at the St. Croix River, improved turn lanes and a new signal system at the intersection of Highway 61 and Highway 95.
