Program Information


Metro District Maintenance Operations This office maintains State, Federal and interstate highways within 8 counties - Anoka, Carver, Chisago, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington. There are 18 truck stations located throughout the metro area. They also do some permitting and fill potholes on state highways.


Metro District State Aid This office assists local agencies in the eight-county metro area with establishing, improving, and maintaining a designated system of roadways.


Metro District Program Management This office is responsible for transportation planning and program management as well as preliminary design of transportation projects in the Metro area.


Metro District Water Resources Engineering This group designs drainage systems, obtains permits and addresses stormwater runoff on MnDOT roadways in the Metro Area; they are also responsible for Metro's MS4 program.

Technical Information

Final Design This office's responsibility is to design, develop, and prepare transportation construction plans and manage the design and preparation of transportation construction plans prepared by consultants. This site contains sample plans, CADD information section, and sample CADD files


Traffic Engineering This office specializes in the design, operation, and inspection and maintenance of Metro District's traffic control devices. We provide traffic engineering support and expertise to other functional offices. This web site contains copies of the most current typical, cell libraries, forms, and other computer files.


Intersection Warrant and Turning Movement Information This site is to provide information to contractors, government employees and others needing traffic count information
