Performance Measures Support Planning and Management at Mn/DOT
Mn/DOT's 10 Statewide Plan transportation policies each have performance measures to help identify investment needs and priorities, track progress toward achieving results, and calculate future fiscal needs to meet performance targets.
Results for both Mn/DOT's long-term investment measures and its short-term operational measures are reported regularly to department, division and district management teams to evaluate progress, guide budgets, and stimulate problem solving.
Mn/DOT relies on the credibility of its performance measures. Mn/DOT strives to have measures that are accurate, repeatable (sustainable and consistent every year), and valuable in planning and decision-making.
