Pavement Engineering consists of engineers specializing in pavement design (including concrete, bituminous, and base materials), non-destructive testing of pavement structures and pavement management.
We conduct pavement designs, review designs from the eight Mn/DOT districts, coordinate pavement condition surveyas and non-destructive testing such as falling-weight deflectometer (FWD) and friction tests to evaluate the condition of trunk highways in Minnesota, and determine the dates for application and removal of Spring Load Limits and Winter Load Increases.
