Fleet Management The Equipment Section is responsible for setting policy and procedures on MnDOT fleet management. This includes providing and supporting the department's Equipment Management System (M5) and automated fueling system. The section provides fleet information products for the department as needed along with fleet training.
Equipment Purchasing
The
Equipment Section is responsible for department equipment purchasing,
that includes development of detailed technical specifications.
Procurement contracts are prepared to not only serve MnDOT internal
customers but also other units of local government throughout
Minnesota.

Plow Truck Fabrication
The
Equipment Section is responsible for engineering, and fabrication of
snow plow trucks for the department. Some of the fabrication is done
in-house with certain portions being managed and outsourced to private
vendors.
Equipment Maintenance
The
Equipment Section vehicle repair shop is responsible for preventive
maintenance and repair of all Central Office equipment which ranges
from automobiles to soils drill rigs.
Inventory/Supplies Management
The Equipment Section is responsible for purchasing and inventory
management for all shop, fabrication, plow truck parts, office,
electrical services, highway signs and other miscellaneous materials
for several functions within MnDOT.
