bushLIVING SNOW FENCESbush

A living snow fence is made up a group of trees, shrubs or native grasses that are planted in rows along side roadways, houses and farms.  The living snow fence is like a wall that stops the blowing and drifting snow from reaching the roadway.

Here is a list of how snow fences help us:

  • improve driving conditions

  • reduce accidents

  • reduce snow removal costs

  • keep roads open in winter

Can you think of other ways living snow fences help us?
