Rotation Opportunities
New trainees participate in these programs for up to two years, depending on their prior experience and the permanent needs of the department.
Consideration is given to the experience and interests of the trainee, but the needs of the department always come first.
Each rotation period lasts from three to six months.
Each trainee will rotate through a variety of areas to ensure they benefit from exposure to a broad background. In addition, there are required rotations which include Construction and Design, as well as a three-month rotation in one of our eight districts.
MnDOT will make every effort to provide trainees with at least one rotation assignment in the area of their greatest interest.
