History & significance

Built in 1958, Bridge 9065 carries southbound U.S. Highway 61 over Trout Creek in Winona County. The bridge is significant as an example of the earliest period of use and evolution for prestressed, post-tensioned concrete slab in the state. Prestressed concrete represents a significant advance in construction materials and was first used by the Minnesota Highway Department in 1957.
