The new bridge will have four knuckles, one knuckle at each end of the steel arches, with two atop Pier 5 and two atop Pier 6. Each knuckle is a massive 36-feet long by 24-feet tall by 12-feet wide.
- Piers 8, 9 and 10 are complete.
- Crews continue to work on Piers 6 and 7.
Roadway
- Girders are in place between the north abutment and Pier 10.
- See video of 165-ton concrete girder delivered on 16 axles worth of big rig.
- Get the full story on the massive girders – read “Take it to the Limit.”
North Bank
- Abutment is completed.
South Bank
- Piers 1-4 (southbound) and southbound roadway forms and falsework (temporary support structures) are in place.
