In the metropolitan areas across the nation, Intelligent Vehicle Highway Systems (IVHS) help control congestion, reduce accidents and manage incidents. Step away from the metropolitan areas and there are other transportation needs and concerns.

To identify the needs and concerns of travelers in rural Minnesota, the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Office of Minnesota Guidestar conducted a federally funded study, the Rural IVHS Scoping Study.
