Intermittent overnight closures of up to 15 minutes on I-494 Feb. 11-15
Motorists may experience delays on both directions of I-494 between France and Penn avenues next week as construction continues on the Xerxes Avenue Bridge spanning the freeway.
Construction crews will begin closing eastbound and westbound lanes on I-494 at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11.
In addition, eastbound I-494 will be reduced to a single lane at 10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11 and Tuesday, Feb. 12 and will reopen at 6 a.m. on the following days.
Westbound I-494 will be reduced to a single lane at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 and Thursday, Feb. 14 and will reopen at 6 a.m. on the following days.
Motorists should watch for intermittent closures of up to 15 minutes on both directions of the freeway as construction crews set bridge beams spanning the roadway. These short-term closures will occur during the overnight hours Feb. 11 through Feb. 15.
Southtown Drive will close between the Wells Fargo property and Cowboy Jack’s, and Xerxes Avenue will close between American Boulevard and Southtown Drive, at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10 and will re-open by 5 a.m. Wednesday, Feb 13. Motorists should follow the posted detours to access area businesses.
