Project information
The construction on Highway 59 consisted of two projects which occurred simultaneously using the same detour to minimize traffic impacts. The projects began in July 2012 and were completed November 2012.
- Concrete Pavement Rehabilitation (CPR) project - included rehabilitating 12 miles of Highway 59 concrete. The project ran from the "S" curve at the north junction Highway 30 to Highway 14 (see map)
- Resurfacing and fix of the "S" curve project - included the realignment of Highway 30 and County Road 12 at the north junction Highway 59, along with 6 miles of mill and overlay from that junction to Slayton (see map)
