There are two segments in this project:
Segment #1: On Highway 23 from 0.5 mile north of Highway 19 to 5,008 feet north of Lyon County Road 33. (State Project 4203-40)
Segment #2: On Hwy 23 from 0.9 mile north of Lyon County Road 33 to 0.1 mile north of Lyon County Road 24 near Cottonwood. (State Project 4203-42)
UPDATES
Week of August 17, 2009
- Segment #1:
- Contractor finishing up bituminous paving this week; estimated open date is Aug. 27
- Segment #2:
- Contractor will begin bituminous paving the shoulders this week; estimated open date is Sept. 1.
Week of August 10, 2009
- Segment #1:
- Paving operations have begun and will continue for the next week; completion of paving is scheduled for the last week in August.
- Segment #2:
- Concrete paving operations will be complete this week.
- Shouldering will begin and is scheduled for completion the last week of August, weather permitting.
Week of July 27, 2009
- Segment #1:
- Crews placing curb and gutter in the area of Lyon County Road 33
- Bituminous paving operations will begin on Wednesday
- Segment #2:
- Contractor will complete paving operations on the mainline on Monday, August 3
- Paving operations will begin for the turn lanes and irregular width concrete
Week of July 13, 2009
- Segment #1:
- Crews to work on the eastbound and westbound lanes north of Lyon County Road 33
- Paving operations will begin in the next 2-3 weeks
- Segment #2:
- Crews will begin concrete paving operations next week, weather permitting
Week of July 6, 2009
- Segment #1:
- Crews continue hauling Class 5 aggregate onto the westbound lanes south of Lyon County Road 33 and Select Granular Borrow for the eastbound lanes north of Lyon County Road 33
- Segment #2:
- Contractor is hauling in Class 5 aggregate on the passing lane portion to bring up to grade
- Crews have completed reclaiming the shoulder material
- The concrete batch plant will be inplace this week to prepare for paving operations next week
Week of June 22, 2009
- Segment #1:
- Contractor continues to haul Class 5 onto the westbound lanes south of Lyon County Road 33.
- Select Granular is being laced on teh newly constructed eastboudn lanes north of Lyon County Road 33.
- Segment #2:
- Contractor continues hauling Common Borrow onto the new passing lanes in preparation for the placement of Class 5.
Week of June 15, 2009
- Segment #1:
- Contractor will begin placing Class 5 material on the westbound lanes and continue placing Class 5 material on the eastbound lanes.
- Segment #2:
- Contractor will be finishing up the excavation & embankment; will continue installation of culvert liners; and will begin milling the bituminous shoulders.
Week of June 8, 2009
- Segment #1:
- Contractor continues to construct new 4-lane section south of Lyon County Road 33
- The last pond will be dug and will begin to construct the frontage road by the businesses.
- Segment #2:
- Contractor completed the realignment of 350th Street.
Week of May 25, 2009
- Contractor is continuing work on building the passing lane.
- Areas of full depth bituminous removal have been milled.
