HIGHWAY 22 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

MOTORISTS REMINDED TO USE DETOUR

Willmar, Minn. B

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds motorists that Highway 22 between Glencoe and Biscay is closed to through traffic. Mn/DOT will continue to provide access to local residents and businesses only. The detour route for through traffic is via County Roads 3 and 4. The detour route adds approximately 3.5 miles.

Due to the critical need to provide a safe work zone for area residents and workers, extra law enforcement will be utilized to monitor the work zone. Local traffic is advised to slow down, observe traffic signs and give highway crews plenty of room to work. Driving too fast, following too close and stopping suddenly are the major causes of crashes in work zones.

According to Mn/DOT officials, the turn lane widening, culvert extensions and the grade raise at County Road 71 is complete. Approximately two weeks of paving will complete the project. Weather permitting the highway will be open to through traffic on November 12.
