HIGHWAY 7 CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE UPDATE The Minnesota Department of Transportation, Hutchinson office, announced today that concrete paving on Trunk Highway 7 east of Hutchinson will be delayed for two weeks due to the concrete paver being moved to another project. According to Mn/DOT officials, construction will continue and concrete paving will resume, weather permitting, on Monday, October 22.
Concrete paving of both lanes, excluding shoulders, have been completed
between 5th Avenue in Hutchinson to near the Bohemian Cemetery just
three miles west of Silver Lake. Aggregate placement on the remaining
three miles, including Silver Lake, will continue in preparation of
concrete paving. Mn/DOT will continue to provide local access and begin to open completed
portions of the highway to local traffic only. Concrete cure time,
placement of aggregate shoulders, striping and signing will need to
be completed before opening any section of the highway. Re-shaping of shoulders, grading of road ditches and spreading of topsoil will continue.
