HIGHWAY 22 IMPROVEMENTS ANNOUNCED
BETWEEN GLENCOE AND BISCAY
Traffic will
be detoured during construction
Willmar,
Minn. - Highway 22 improvements between Glencoe and Biscay will begin
on Monday (August 16) and it will be necessary to detour traffic during
construction, according to officials at the Minnesota Department of
Transportation office in Hutchinson.
The detour route will be via McLeod County
Roads 3 and 4. The detour route adds approximately 3.5 miles. Plans
call for a bituminous overlay, culvert repair and extension, and turn
lane construction beginning near Armstrong in Glencoe to the south limits
of Biscay. Local access will be maintained throughout the project. Mn/DOT
anticipates that the project will be completed in mid-November.
Bauerly Brothers, Inc., Sauk Rapids,
Minn., is the prime contractor of the $1.8 million project.
Motorists are advised to watch for detour
signs and use caution on the detour due to increased traffic and heavy
equipment in the area.
