Mn/DOT MN/DOT ANNOUNCES HIGHWAY 7 CONSTRUCTION
BETWEEN HUTCHINSON AND SILVER LAKE
Willmar, Minn. - The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced
today that reconstruction of Trunk Highway 7 between Hutchinson and Silver
Lake is underway and plans call to detour traffic, weather permitting,
beginning Wednesday (May 12) until November.
According to Mn/DOT officials, the project includes reconstruction,
concrete surfacing, installation of right and left turn lanes and construction
of the Department Of Natural Resources Luce Line Trail underpass on T.H.
7. Construction limits to begin at 5th Avenue N.E. in Hutchinson, to the
east limits of Silver Lake. Plans call to begin the project at Hutchinson
Technologies T.H. 7 entrance and progress east to Silver Lake. No work
is planned in the city limits of Hutchinson and Silver Lake until later
in the construction season.
The detour route, beginning at Hutchinson, will be south on T.H. 22
to junction County Road 11, east on C.R. 11 to junction C.R. 2, north on
C.R. 2 to C.R. 22, east on C.R. 22 to junction C.R. 15, north on C.R. 15
to junction T.H. 7.
The prime contractor for the $10.2 million project is Duininck Bros,
Inc. of Prinsburg, Minn.
Motorists are advised to watch for detour signs and use caution on
the detour due to increased traffic and heavy equipment in the area.
