MnDOT issues no travel advisory for Murray County in southern Minnesota
WILLMAR, Minn. — Recent rains are causing flooding in southern Minnesota. MnDOT has issued a No Travel Advisory for Murray County in southern Minnesota.
In addition to the No Travel Advised in Murray County, Hwy 59 at 191st St. near Lake Shetek is now closed.
The following roads are currently closed in southern MN:
- Hwy 59 at 191st Street near Lake Shetek
- Hwy 19 at the intersection of CR 5
- Hwy 14 from Tracy to Walnut Grove
Motorists should be aware, and drive with caution in Lyon County and Redwood County as roads are flooded. All other roads are open, but may be under water.
MnDOT is currently assessing the situation and will provide updates, including road closures, as information becomes available.
In addition to the counties mentioned above, city streets in Marshall are also under water. The City of Marshall asks that residents drive carefully. The situation is being assessed and updates will be provided as they become available.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation warns motorists that driving through water is dangerous. Vehicles can be swept away in only several inches of moving water. Motorists are encouraged to check www.511mn.org for the latest road information.
