MnDOT opens Hwy 91 and Hwy 19
WILLMAR, Minn. — Recent rains have caused flooding and roads to close in southern Minnesota locations. Hwy 19 from the intersection of CR 5 to Marshall is now open, but there is still water covering the road in locations. Hwy 91 between 151 Street and 211 Street north of the Lake Wilson area is also open to traffic. The following roads are still closed:
- Hwy 59 at 191st Street near Lake Shetek
- Hwy 14 from Tracy to Walnut Grove
MnDOT has issued a No Travel Advisory in Murray County.
Motorists should be aware, and drive with caution in Lyon County and Redwood County as roads are flooded. All other roads are open, but may be under water.
MnDOT is currently assessing the situation and will provide updates, including road closures, as information becomes available.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation warns motorists that driving through water is dangerous.
Vehicles can be swept away in only several inches of moving water. Motorists are encouraged to check www.511mn.org for the latest road information.
