Detour to be removed on Hwy 14 Lake Benton project today
WILLMAR, Minn. – The detour on Highway 14 between the South Dakota border and Lake Benton will be removed this evening, Wednesday, August 17, 2016. The remaining paving work will be done under traffic utilizing a pilot car and flagger. This project is scheduled to be complete in mid-September.
Construction began August 1, 2016 and required a three week detour for storm sewer, guardrail and grading work. The project also includes the resurfacing of Highway 14 from the South Dakota state line to Lake Benton and a chip seal.
This project helps ensure Minnesota’s transportation system will continue to serve the state for many years and includes safety enhancements, smoother road surface and improved drainage beneath the road. The estimated project cost is $2 million.
The contractor on the project is Duininck Inc. of Prinsburg.
