Orange barrels on a highway

Hwy 9 resurfacing project from New London to Sunburg starts August 1

WILLMAR, Minn. –   The Highway 9 resurfacing project starts Monday, August 1.  This project includes the resurfacing of Highway 9 from New London to Sunburg and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) work in New London at the intersection of Highway 9 and 2nd Ave NE.

The Highway 9 project also includes bridge grinding work at Nest Lake Bridge.  Bridge grinding includes milling of the top surface to reduce sound.  Both projects will be done under traffic with a flagger and pilot car.

The estimated project cost is $1.8 million.  For more information on this project visit http://www.dot.state.mn.us/d8/projects/hwy9.

MnDOT asks motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving through work zones.  Remember orange cones, no phones.  Motorists who speed through a work zone or who disobey work zone flaggers face a $300 fine.
