Orange barrels on a highway

Bridge maintenance near Brownton to end August 1

WILLMAR, Minn. – Bridge maintenance work near Brownton began Monday, July 18.  The bridge is approximately 2-3 miles east of the Jct of Highway 15 and Highway 212 near Brownton.  The work, which includes cleaning and sealing cracks on the deck and approach panels, was scheduled to be complete by end of the day July 28.  Due to wet weather conditions, the work will be complete by noon on Monday, August 1.

Work is being done under traffic by closing one lane at a time on the bridge.  Motorists should be prepared for short delays as portable signals will be used to allow traffic over the bridge one direction at a time.  Speed will be reduced to 45 mph.  A weight restriction will be in place.

MnDOT asks motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving through work zones. Motorists who speed through a work zone or who disobey work zone flaggers’ traffic directions face a $300 fine.  Remember, orange cones, no phones.
