Orange barrels on a highway

UPDATE: Bridge maintenance near Brownton to begin July 18

WILLMAR, Minn. – Bridge maintenance work near Brownton is scheduled to begin Monday, July 18.  The bridge is approximately 2-3 miles east of the Jct of Highway 15 and Highway 212 near Brownton.  The work, which includes cleaning and sealing cracks on the deck and approach panels, will be complete by end of the day July 28.

The bridge maintenance preserves and extends the life of bridges by removing and protecting bridges from chlorides that can deteriorate bridges.

Work will be done under traffic by closing one lane at a time on the bridge.  Motorists should be prepared for short delays as portable signals will be used to allow traffic over the bridge one direction at a time.  Speed will be reduced to 45 mph.  A weight restriction will be in place. A width restriction of 20 feet will be in place.

MnDOT asks motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving through work zones. Motorists who speed through a work zone or who disobey work zone flaggers’ traffic directions face a $300 fine.  Remember, orange cones, no phones.
